SummaCare, Inc. has been providing health insurance to 18 counties in northeastern Ohio since the early 1990s. Their headquarters are located in Akron, Ohio. SummaCare, Inc. was previously SummaCare Health Plan, Inc. It also operates as a subsidiary of Summa Health System. These are Silver Plus (HMOPOS), Gold Plus (HMOPOS) and Platinum (HMOPOS). The three plans include varying premiums per month as well as different expenses for you to pay yourself. These three plans provide pharmacy coverage , and do not require referrals for network doctors, specialists, or hospitals.
A few of the benefits offered by the Silver Plus option are the zero monthly premium and deductible, and there is also no cost to see your primary care doctor. To see a specialist there is a $30 fee. The out of pocket limit is set at $3,400. Within the prescription plan there is a $3 co-pay for generic prescription drugs, and a $35 co-pay for preferred brand name drugs.
