Medicare Supplement

Pyramid Insurance began providing Medicare Supplement insurance in 1966, when Medicare first became inaugurated.  The Medicare Supplement covers the expenses that are not covered with Medicare such as nursing facilities, overnight stays in hospitals, blood, as well as in some cases of at-home recovery, and foreign-travel care in time of an emergency.

Medicare Select

 

Under Pyramid's Medicare Select policies, Select in-network hospitals waive Part A deductible and members pay on average 15-18% less in premiums than if they were to receive a non-Select Medicare supplement insurance.  In case of an emergency, out-of-network hospitals may be used, however for non-emergency visits to an out-of-network hospital, the patient will pay the Part A deductible.

 

Medicare Advantage

Universal American's Medicare Advantage plan combines Medicare Part A and Part B.  Universal American prides themselves in their low or $0 copays, premiums, and deductibles along with out-of-pocket limits and health and wellness programs for their members.

 

Medicare Advantage HMO

Beneficiaries pay $0/month for their premium and pay low to $0 copayments for visits to primary care doctors along with low copayments for annual eye and dental examination.  Other benefits include $0 copayments for mammograms and prostate screenings.

 

Medicare Advantage PPO

Benefits include: low primary care physician copays and low hospital copays per stay as well as low copays for mammograms and prostate screenings.
