Best Medicare and Best Medicare Advantage

What is Medigap?

Medigap is a Medicare supplemental health insurance policy that extends the amount of health insurance for Medicare eligible recipients. A Medicare supplemental health plan is an additional Medicare plan on top of the Original Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B. Medigap is provided by private health insurance companies such as Anthem, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, HealthNet, or Humana.

A Medicare supplemental or Medigap plan provides additional coverage to healthcare deficiencies that you may be exposed to under the Original Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B. Within the Medigap policy, there are 12 different standards of health plans.

What are the eligibility and enrollment requirements?

Medicare applicants who are eligible for a Medigap Policy must also enroll in Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B to receive the benefits of a Medicare Supplemental health insurance plan. Medigap contains 12 different plans for an additional monthly premium on top of Medicare Part B.
