Kaiser Permanente Medicare programs are designed to help you live your best, independent life. Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plans are available to CaliforniaColoradoGeorgia, HawaiiMarylandVirginiaWashington DCOregonWashington, and Ohio residents.

 

Seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries have many different Medicare choices for their health care needs. You can choose to enroll in the traditional Medicare program, or enroll in a Medicare Advantage health plan like the Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage plan.

 

The Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage Individual policy is a health maintenance organization (HMO) plan.  The plan incorporates Medicare Part B healthcare coverage and Medicare Part D prescription medication insurance. What you pay for your drugs is included in your monthly plan premium. Forming a network of doctors, specialists, hospitals, and pharmacies you can only use these doctors and pharmacies that are a part of this network. Health providers of this network can change or expand at any time.

 

The drugs covered by the Kaiser Senior Advantage (HMO) Medicare Advantage Individual plan included but are not limited to antigens, osteoporosis drugs, erythropietin, hemophilia clotting factors, injectable drugs, immunosuppressive drugs, some oral cancer drugs, and more.

 

You are eligible for the Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage or Medicare Plus plan if:

 

  • You're entitled to Medicare Part A and already receiving Medicare Part B benefits

  • You are a resident of one of the Kaiser Permanente service areas (listed above)

 

If you have end-stage renal disease you are not eligible unless one of the following is true:

 

  • You developed end-stage renal disease while enrolled in a Kaiser Permanente plan. 

  • You have undergone a successful kidney transplant which rejuvenated the function of your kidneys so that you no longer undergo dialysis.

  • You were affected by the non renewal of a Medicare Part C Advantage plan after December 31, 1998, and you have yet to utilize your one-time enrollment exception to sign up in an Advantage plan.

 

Supplemental insurance policies are also a type of plan provided by Kaiser. The plan pays your medical bills. Some even serve to be an income replacement plan. Hospital indemnity and medigap fall under this type of healthcare cover as well. Policies may vary depending on your location.
