The Gerber Life Insurance Company is rated “A” for Excellent by the A.M. Best and prides its supplemental insurance coverage on its financial flexibility and customer care. The supplement plan is guaranteed renewable as long as premiums are paid on time. Benefits increase as Medicare deductibles and coinsurance increase. Medicare Supplement, or Medigap, is a supplemental health insurance which extended coverage for Medicare beneficiaries and pay out-of-pocket costs in which Original Medicare does not cover. 

 

Medicare Supplement Plan F offer high deductible options. Plan F offers basic copay coverage as well as Part A hospital deductible, skilled nursing facility copays, Part B deductible and emergency international coverage. Plan G offers mostly everything that Plan F offers, except it does not cover the Part B deductible but it includes annual at-home recovery benefits in which Plan F does not offer.

 

Gerber’s Plan F has $140.25 premium per month and is accepted by all doctors who accept Medicare. Gerber’s Plan G has $120.86 premium and is also accepted by doctors who accept Medicare. Neither plan provides prescription drug coverage.

 

When choosing your own Medicare plan, remember to consider out of pocket expenses, the quality of network providers, additional benefits, and coinsurance. Keep in mind that HMO plans tend to restrict providers to a network while PPO plans are generally more flexible when seeking out of network care.
