Medicare Plans in your area:

There are ten different Medicare Plans available for you to choose from in Richmond, VA.It is important to have plans specific to your area because the plans are provided by private companies.  These companies may list specific doctors and hospitals that you must use for your plan to be covered.  These doctors and hospitals that the company is connected with are located in your specific area.  If you choose to use another doctor or hospital that is not in your area, your Medicare Plan may not be applicable.

 

Plans offered by each company:

The following is a plan offered by various Medicare carriers. It will give you and idea of the coverage and benefits offered by each carrier.  Besides the benefits offered below, there are additional benefits you will receive from each plan as well as the Medicare carrier. 

 

Humana Health Insurance offers the Plan: HumanaChoice H5826-079 (PPO).  With this Plan, you will pay a monthly premium of $56.  Office visits are distinguished between primary care visits and specialty visits.  Primary care office visits have $15 co-pay.  Specialty visits have $40 co-pay.  A Hospital Inpatient (one that requires an over-night hospital stay) has a $225 co-pay per day for the first 7 days.  Days 8-90 have $0 co-pay.  A hospital Outpatient (one who requires medical treatment or services or a hospital visit that is not over-night) will have $0-$250 co-pay, depending on the cost of the visit.  This Plan has the benefit of Pharmacy coverage, which includes pharmacy costs such as the cost of prescription drugs. 

 

Mutual of Omaha offers Medicare Supplement Plan F.  Plan F’s popularity is due to its broad range of coverage for healthcare expenses.  People generally choose this Supplement Plan to cover many excess costs associated with Part A and Part B of their current Medicare Plan, such as Part A and B copayments and deductibles.  Omaha offers this Supplement Plan F for a monthly premium of $94.98.  There is a $0 co-pay for office visits (both primary care and specialty), hospital inpatients, and hospital outpatients.  This Supplement Plan does not cover Pharmacy.

 

Anthem offers a Medicare Supplement Plan G.  This Supplement Plan is popular for additional coverage of costs form Medicare Part A and Part B.  With this Supplement Plan added to your current Plan, you will have to pay a monthly premium of $98.  There is a $0 co-pay for office visits, hospital outpatients, and hospital inpatients.  Pharmacy is not covered with this Plan.
