Best Medicare and Best Medicare Advantage

There are several Medicare Supplement Plans in Overland Park, KS.  These Medicare plans offer additional coverage and benefits to your original Medicare Plan.  Each person has different healthcare insurance needs.  You can add certain Medicare Plans to your original plan to help cover healthcare costs specific to you.

There are two Medicare Carriers in your area.  They are Gerber Life Insurance Company and Mutual of Omaha Medicare.  These companies give you a total of seven different Medicare Plans to choose from.  It is important to choose a plan available in your area because these Medicare Plans are provided by private companies.  The companies provide the benefits of their plan only if you use the specified doctors and hospitals in the plan.  If you choose to use a doctor that the plan does not cover, your Plan will not be applicable to cover the healthcare costs in that case.

Each Medicare Plan has similar coverage and benefits.  It is important to look at the specific benefits of each plan to see which works best for your healthcare insurance needs.  Gerber Life Insurance offers Medicare Supplement Plans A, F, and G.  Mutual of Omaha Medicare offers Supplement Plans B, D, G, and N.

Gerber Medicare Supplement Plan F has a monthly premium of $132.49.  The co-pay for Office Visits (both primary care and specialty office visits) has $0 co-pay.  Hospital Inpatients (those who require over-night stay in the hospital) have a $co-pay.  Hospital Outpatients (those who require medical services or equipment, or a hospital visit that was not over-night) have a $0 co-pay as well.  However, there is no Pharmacy coverage for the cost of prescription drugs.  Plan F is a very popular Medicare Supplement Plan to cover many excess costs of your healthcare.

Medicare Supplement Plan D is offered to Overland Park area by Mutual of Omaha Medicare.  This Plan has a monthly premium of $115.71.  The copayment for Office Visits, Hospital Inpatients, and Hospital Outpatients is $0.  Although there is no additional Pharmacy coverage, Plan D is a popular Plan known to cover your necessary Prescription Drug Costs.

Mutual of Omaha Medicare also offers Medicare Supplement Plan N.  Plan N has been newly added to Medicare Plan options (it will become available as of June 1, 2010).  This Plan, too, will offer coverage for any excess “out-of-pocket” costs you may encounter from healthcare services, like a doctor’s office.   You will have to pay a monthly premium of $106.23 to have this plan added to your Medicare coverage.  This Supplement Plan N will require you to pay a $20 co-pay for Office Visits (both primary care and specialty doctors).  Hospital Inpatients and Outpatients have $0 co-pay.  There is no Pharmacy coverage for the costs of necessary prescription drugs.
