Oftentimes, your Medicare Plan does not cover all the costs associated with your healthcare.  You can add Medicare Plans to your current Medicare Plan to receive more coverage for your healthcare needs.  Each person has specific medical and financial needs.  Hence, you can choose the Medicare Plan that best suits your particular healthcare needs.  

 

There are four Medicare carriers in your area.  They offer a total of 14 different Medicare Plans for you to choose from. 

 

1. Humana Health Insurance offers three plans in Joliet, IL.  They are PPO HumanaChoice H5826-023, PPO HumanaChoice H5826-009, and HMO Humana Gold Plus H1406-013.   Each plan has different coverage, benefits, and fees.  These Plans can be added to your Medicare Advantage Plan.

 

PPO HumanaChoice H5826-009 is offered for a monthly premium of $179.  This plan has a $15 co-pay for primary care office visits.  There is a $35 co-pay for specialty office visits.  Hospital inpatients (those who require an over-night stay) will have $225 co-pay per day for the first seven days.  Days 8-90 will have $0 co-pay.  Hospital Outpatients (those who require a hospital visits that are not over-night or require medical service or equipment) has a $50-$150 co-pay per visit.  In general, the co-pay will be 20% of the cost of the visit.  Pharmacy, such as the cost of prescription drugs, is covered with this Plan. 

 

2. Gerber Life Insurance offers three Medicare Supplement Plans, Plan A, F, and G.  These Medicare Supplement Plans can be added to your current Medicare Plan.  Medicare Supplement Plan F had a monthly premium of $143.32.  There is $0 co-pay for office visits, hospital inpatients, and hospital outpatients.  Pharmacy is not covered with this Plan.  Medicare plan F offers excess coverage, such as out-of-pocket costs from Medicare Part A and Part B.  It offers benefits such as Foreign Travel Emergency insurance, among many others.

 

3. Mutual of Omaha Medicare offers five Medicare Supplement Plans to Joliet, IL.  These are Medicare Supplement Plans A, F, G, M, and N.  Medicare Supplement Plan N offers coverage for Medicare Part A deductible and it offers lower out-of-pocket costs.  Medicare Supplement Plan N has a monthly premium of $81.25.  there is $20 co-pay for primary care and specialty office visits.  Hospital Inpatients and Hospital Outpatients have $0 co-pay.  Pharmacy is not covered with this Supplement Plan.

 

4. Aetna offers three Medicare Supplement Plans in your area, Medicare Supplement Plans A, B, and F.  Medicare Supplement Plan F is offered for a monthly premium of $184.99.  This Plan gives you the benefit of a $0 co-pay for office visits, hospital inpatients, and hospital outpatients.  However, Pharmacy is not covered with this plan. 

 

It is important to find Medicare Plans available in your area.  Medicare carriers offer coverage for the Plan you choose when you use particular doctors and hospitals in your area.  The doctors and hospitals offered by your Medicare carriers are often a part of a network.  Therefore, you must use the doctors and hospitals in the network for your Medicare Plan to be applicable.  In the case of an emergency, your Medicare Plan may extend your coverage.
