MyBestMedicare offers 8 Medicare plans for people over the age of 65 who live in Jacksonville, Florida. Some common Medicare plans offered in the Jacksonville area by Aetna include the Value Plan HMO, Premier Plan HMO, Standard Plan PPO and Premier Plan PPO. Humana also offers Jacksonville residents 3 PPO plans and 1 HMO plan. The monthly premiums for Humana’s plans range from $0-$84. 

 

Aetna’s Medicare Value Plan HMO is available for $21 monthly premium. Visits to notified primary care physicians (PCP) require $30 copay. You must pay $40 copayment for trips to specialists, and members receive one annual physical exam. If you need inpatient hospital care, you will be responsible for paying the $250 copay for the first seven days, and inpatient hospital care and $250 copay per outpatient visit. Pharmacy is not included.

 

Aetna Medicare Premier Plan HMO requires $103.50 premium. You are responsible for $20 copay when you visit a notified PCP. You need to cover the $35 copayment when you see a specialist members receive one annual physical exam. For days 1-8 of inpatient hospital care, there is a $185 copayment per day, and $250 copay per outpatient visit. Pharmacy is included, see plan for details.

 

If you choose the Aetna Medicare Standard Plan PPO, you must pay $108 monthly premium. When you see a notified PCP, there is $20 copay when the, and there is $35 copay when you see a specialist. Members receive one annual physical exam and one annual eye exam. The first seven days of inpatient hospital care have $200 copayment apiece and $200 copay per outpatient visit. If you opt to enroll in the Aetna Medicare Premier Plan PPO, you are responsible for paying the $143 premium every month. When you make a trip to your PC, you must pay $15 copayment. For specialist visits there is $25 copay and members receive one annual physical exam and one annual eye exam. For the first seven days of inpatient hospital care, you are responsible for the $125 copayment per day and $200 copay per outpatient visit. Pharmacy is included, see plan for details.

 

The difference between HMO and PPO plans in Medicare is that PPO, or Preferred Provider Organization plans offer beneficiaries the choice of their primary care physician and the choice of what health care provider they would like to go to at a higher copay rate.
